- The first picture, what can I say - it’s too cute. A still from ‘Ek Saal’
- The last picture - don’t ask me how I got a hold of it. But I did. It shows Madhubala with her two youngest sisters -the one on the right of her being Zahida aka Madhur Bhushan (17 years her junior)

I stumbled across this very rare gem, and was so very happy, that thought I should share it with my tumblr folk!

Seen in this gorgeous picture, is none other than Madhubala with her Sister Kaneez on her left, R. K. Karanjiya’s wife on the right, and their daughter sitting beside her. R.K. Karanjia was a famous journalist and editor in India at the time.

This picture is originally from one of Karanjiya’s memoirs, said to have been taken at his house. Madhubala was very fond of their daughter, so visited often - This particular visit is said to have been organised to try and end the ban on  press coverage that Ataullah Khan had for Madhubala.

Such a lovely picture, I smiled a very wide smile when I first laid my eyes on it. Partly due to the fact that I know she was fond of children and wanted to have her own but could not due to her illness, and partly because it’s one of those rare off screen pictures that you never see of Madhubala.
